Im new to this forum but i own 2 minis, 1 is a Mary Quant, that is in perfect condition and is for sale. My other mini is a 1991 mini cooper but it is under going repairs. My dad owns a garage in bournemouth called park garage and we have had some problems with the cooper all ELETRICAL !!!Im thinking of getting rid of the ECU due to the fact it is made by rover and replacing it with carbs but ive never done it before has any one elses experianced any simmilar problems.

welcome to the forum mate i have a mini cooper also but its a 1993 but also the electricl is messed up on that

Yea its really anoying its the Temp sensor its tellnig the ecu that the car is cold when it is acually hot so it is putting more fuel into the engine to heat it up and because of this it wont pass the emmsions test for a M.O.T Ive changed the sensor but it didnt fix the problem so i think the sensor wire must be broken somewhere. The reason im thinking of putting on twin carbs is beause minis with ECU's are to tempremental !!!!!

Its good to be able to talk to more People who are mad on minis, This time last year the only person who had a mini was 1 one my friends since then 5 other people including his DAD, BROTHER, WORK MATES, MY DAD AND ANOTHER FRIEND. we have ALL BEEN BITTEN
