Hi all

I have recently acquired a Freestyle kit car, part built and missing some bits, but mostly there, so I went looking for advice using (nearly) everybody's favourite search engine and so I got here and signed up.

I will look through the topics on the Forum and then start asking the first of many questions, both stupid and probing (I hope).

My first two cars were minis, a 998 then a 1275 GT. The second one ended up with a 1300 engine from elsewhere in the range of BMC cars, but eventually had to go in favour of vehicles with more space.

I'm located near Malvern Link, so if anyone wants to get in touch I'm open to a chat.

Hi. Just joined and heard about you from another mini owner.
I have a mini Cooper 53 plate. I have a problem when I drive through a puddle or a lot of road surface spray. The mini loses power. I press on the accelerator and it does nothing for several seconds then power comes back, then loses it again then power comes back! No warning lights come on the dash.Very weird. It's had a diagnostic test and nothing comes up. It's as if water is getting in somewhere and then drys out and the mini is fine again. Please help! I don't feel comfortable driving it in the rain anymore. 😣

I am from Carstairs, Alberta, Canada.

I raced a 1293 Cooper S in the early 1970s and have owned a number of Minis over the years.

I don't have one right now but am interested in classic minis. There is nothing like them!

Hello all. I am from Clermont Queensland, Australia. I have been a mini fan since I was 16. I currently have a 1978 mini moke californian. which is in the proces of being restored. Plus 2 early to mid 60's saloons which will be restored when the moke is completed. I found the site whilst googling for information.

Hi yall
Im kevin west sussex
I started with the mini craze in 1993
First mini was a 1979 1100 clubby in vermillion orange bought from billinghurst in sussex for £395
Sold it a few years later for scrap at the time money was very tight and i didnt know how to repair the brakes.
Now have a clubby in purple, bought in 2006 for £400.
Have spent 11 years restoring her (money has been a very big issue for the first 5 years) but i was not going to get rid of her.
Todate i have spent nearly 12k and she will be on the road this june.
Lots have been done.
Basicaly running a 1330 with supercharger on a hif44, kad brakes all round, willwood bias valve, cobra clubman seats, four point harnesses, no rear seats, trigger handbrake, front and rear subframes cleaned shot blasted and powder coated, 3 clock burr walnut dash, 6x12 genuine revelotions, full poly bush all round, kad top engne steady, protech coil overs front and offset coil overs on the rear, 13 row oil cooler, med lightened and balance flywheel with turbo clutch plate and lots of other bits the list is endless.
Regards kev

Hi! I'm from Los Angeles Ca. USA. I followed "hazzar1236" over from "http://badobsessionm...ctiveboard.com/".

I don't own one yet, l'm learning all I can so I'll hopefully not make any(many?) big mistakes when I do buy! Thanks!

Hi all,

I'm Mick and I'm in West Sussex, found you via a Google search.

Been on the spanners for various manufacturers for thirty-five years, currently Mini (some BMW) main dealer for the last five years.

I like the current range so much I've just ordered an F56 and am currently waiting impatiently!
