Rite just bought a performance coil, and was just wondering weather I need to do anything before I fit it, also what pros and cons to fiiting one?

hey beat me to it, i was all ready with "first open the bonnet..."
i guess it just goes in place of the old one? The only thing i suppose could go wrong is if you try to take the coil bracket off and it is secured directly by a cylinder head nut rather than by a separate nut on top of the head nut but on the same stud, and then you end up loosening 1 head stud all the way to take the coil bracket off which would not be good as head nuts should be loosened in the right order. On my latest mini this was the way the coil had been mounted...

YEP and mine
make sure the + & - dont get mixed up on the wires going to the coil

hope uv not got electronic ignition! its as simple as it looks, disconect and then reconect!

Ive got a 1996 sidewalk injection so nt sure weather my ignition is electronic how do i fined out?

it will definitely be electronic on that car!
if so you'll need an electronic ignition coil, or take your red bull cover off and put it on the coil you already have fitted. Like I said though, be careful of the coil overheating.

i had to take my sports coil off as it gives a very poor spark with an ignition moduel! im not sure on the exact reason but im sure dan can expand
