I have mine on the floor just in front of the drivers seat, as the makes it slightly harder to be hot wired. But then again a kill switch isn't too hard to get around anyway when you think about it. Is yours one where you can take the key out?!

In racing this may be called a "kill switch" but it's really a battery disconnect switch. An honest-to-God kill switch is usually part of the ignition system and the ignition system only. A kill switch is a single-pole/single-throw switch wired between coil (-) and chassis ground. You close the switch and coil (-) is left permanently hooked to ground, thus preventing any spark from forming to ignite the mixture.

As for the battery switch, I've heard of people mounting them various places on Minis. I believe one of the most common over here is tucked up in the tunnel near the shift mechanism. Fitting it there would obviously depend on the size of the switch, your exhaust system and the shift mechanism as they all want that space.

Yea it's got a removable key, surely if it didn't there wouldn't be much point on a road car? I think the floor would be the best option like Jammy because at some point i expect to buy a proper dash board an then this would mean i'd have to move it again!
So i'll have a look at where it is goin later on.

my wiring knowledge is C**p can you have a kill switch like an ignition switch...baring in mind my cars having bear mini(boom boom)mum i realistically could have all the lights etc bar indicators hooked up to different flick switches etc on dash and a key kill/ignition switch????? :P

Well in my car, there is the battery cut off switch on the floor, which you have to turn, then a switch for the fuel pump in the back (something not everyone has to do), and then a switch for the ignition, and the a button which hits the starter and away. Its great, theres like a start up procedure to the car, very much like a jet or something!! :P
