Also DO inform your insurance. If you dont your insurance may be void if you have an accident and you have this mod undeclared.
Find out from before how much (if anything) it will go up. Some companies do raise the rate, but its not a lot at all (nowhere near putting in a larger engine!).
Like has been said, make sure you get it set up properly after fitting it (doesnt mean you cant fit it and drive it around for a few days or a week before getting it set up), but do get it set up as soon as funds allow you to!
The power gains from the kit won't be that much (you won't get Ferrari acceleration), but they do add a bit of torque and power, and they make the car much more perky and driveable!
Good luck!

Thanks guys! I think this is something that I will probably do when I got a few more pennies. Things are really tight at the mo, but I'm looking for another job to fit in with my college hours, then I can get this job done! Where would you suggest I take it? How long does it take to get done?
Maybe see you a Stoneleigh, L2B, Mini 45 etc?
Looking forward to getting into events again!
I'm trying to upload a piccy of my previous Mini that I had to sell.

That's a beautiful clubbie! Wow!
Shame you had to sell it!
Go to mini 45 with the rest of the gang, maybe you'll find a cheap stage 1 kit there. As for installing it, there's many places all over the country that will do it I'm sure.
Ask around at the event, im not very good with these things because I dont live in UK

Nice looking mini, looks like mine did before i got my hands on it
I think, but am not 100%, but i'm sure they do a 1275 auto in the minis. It may be worth havin a look around and tryin to find one. I doubt your insurance would go up that much because its an auto.
And to an earlier comment, the auto and manual sub frames are different, the auto is slightly wide by about 1cm or so and one of the engine mount holes is in the wrong place. I had an auto frame on Old Blue and I just drilled the hole in the right place and made some smacers to go in between the sub frame and the engine mount to take up the space.

There were no 1275 autos as far i know.
MBM even have an advertisement as being able to supply the only 1.3 automatic engines (and minis).
I guess if you really wanted one u could get one from them, but knowing their pricing policy, it would go into a few grand worth of money

In my experience, just stay as far away from MBM as possible........

I agree. Heard some pretty horrible things about their cars after a few years of use.
But even without that, their prices are enough to drive away most people
