I was wondering, how do you know that your shock absorbers have gone? I've had Percie for 1.5 weeks now, and a couple of times when we've been bombing (sorry but I have to do it, its so much fun!) round a corner and gone over a bump at the same time, it's felt like the front wheels have left the floor! Also when I park on my drive, I reverse in, and there's a bit of a drop. When the front wheels go over this drop and I'm actually moving faster than a snail, there's a thud from the front end. Does this show that my shocks have gone?
Is there a way that I can test my shocks?
All help gratefully received!

Try Pushin the on the wing, if the car kinda bounces, then the shock is worn out, but this doesnt realy work too well on minis. You can jus tell when they've gone, the car doesnt feel right, feels loose in cornes and wallows about, if thats any help.
Also look for oily dampness around the shock to see if its leaking...

Like blue said, its hard to not notice when they've gone.
You might as well replace them anyway if you've got money. Get some KYB ones. If you want a softer (stock) ride, then the Kayaba replacements cost around7-8 pounds each, which is rather cheap!
