I wouldn't have painted inside the R/box fear of paint coming off and blocking an oilway or something.

I have one to on my project car, mine is black and is not painted inside so i pressume this is as they came.

I had been looking for one for quite a while. My mini came with a JanSpeed Cylinder head and a JanSpeed exhaust so I thought it would be nice to continue the them with a rocker cover!

I was looking on ebay every week for 8 months! It cost me about £45 in the end.

Thats funny mine was exactly the same with the head and exhaust.
Do you know what stage yours is?
