Had an idea this morning, I've been toying with the idea of putting a bigbore auto into petal, and was considering moving the shift from the floor to the column, ala 50's American motors. May even consider moving the handbrake but that may be more fun!!!

Anyone seen owt like that or any ideas on how to do it...

I can understand the moving the handbrake, but why the shifter onto the colum? If its an auto you could put it some were out of site.

The Yank ones use rods which run down the steering column usually I think, rather than a shifter unit inside the cowling so I don't think you would be able to adapt one of those. You could mount the Mini shifter unit inside the cowling I suppose, with a bracket of some kind but it's a bit large. Speedy Cables would probably make you a longer shifer cable for it. Might be quite a laugh I suppose.
