I think a courier will charge you by volumetric weight. Although the front itself only weighs around 7kg they'll charge you by how much space the box takes up!

Size wise I'd say 1400mm long x 500mm deep x 900mm high.

Just be careful they don't try and save you postage by "flat packing" it for you.

Careful couriers are few and far between, every one of them who delivers to me used this as a training video....

I'd double check that Parcel Force price, when entering your details on-line for the quote did it ask for parcel sizes or just weight?

I'm certain that Parcel Force have a 3000mm maximum girth and length rule! I'd do a bit more research

yep they do, all couriers i checked wouldn't do it with the exeption of DHL... if you go on to www.interparcel.com link you can put in the exact dimensions and it will quote the price for you from each carrier that will actually do an item of that size... make sure you cis down when you get the prices though... :o

I used them to pick up 2 parcel from me, 1 was a small box and 1 was a 2m long set of bull bars.. city link were supposed to pick up the bullbars but a foreign driver from dhl turned up and took the bullbars (he just had details that he was picking up a parcel, no details of where it was going) and DHL took it for £6.99 instead of £55 that city link were going to charge
I reckon if you shave 10cms of each dimension, they wouldn't check... but still for that price, you'd be better off hiring a limo for the day to drive you down and collect it.

There's small print and if they catch on i think you are obliged to pay a penalty charge IE full price and then some. And any insurance they offer may also be invalid if you have quoted incorrect sizes.
