I've got a 1.5 ratio roler tip rockers to go on my mini but dont know the valve clearences for this raito


can any one help

As a basic rule of thumb you add a couple of thou to whatever your clearances are already when adding 1.5 rockers.

that sounds a bit hit and miss

i thought i read somewhere that you divide the standard amount by 1.25 and then times by 1.5 is this right ?

i was told by M.E.D that the gaps are the same as standard rockers, i've been running my engine like this for about 6 years now with no probs.

I heard that you can run smaller gaps with roller rockers (or was that cardon fiber push rods ), but i dont know !
i run standard gaps :grin:
no problems(yet)been on for 6 months now

Yes the gap should be the same as I understand it, the amount the push rod increases in length due to heating is negligable really so the extra length of the rocker won't have all that much of an effect. It's the amount the valves increase (particularly the exhaust valves) which is important, and the new rockers won't change that.

I run standard rockers at .010 thou and roller tips were at .012 thou
