Set off to pick my girlfriend up yesterday at about 1 o'clock, just pulled out the drive and onto the main road, suddenly stopped and I had no power, didn't understand what was going on, got out, checked everything to make sure wheels were still on and such, opened the petrol tank and realised it was empty again , couple of builder lads came round the corner in their van, got out and helped me push her to the side of the road (I had come out of my drive and onto the road so I was stopped bang in the middle across the two lanes) wasn't far to walk home luckily so I used the petrol tank we use for the sit on lawnmower, and then I was off .
& also my indicators.. the hazards work, bar the front right bullet & the left hand side indicators work, but the right.. the front bullet doesn't work, and the side repeated and the rear stay constantly on, any ideas?
Also the replacement rear bulb came nicely packaged in the post today, so I'll get out tonight after College, fix that and fit my new clear rear lights .
In a bit.

Just been out quickly tonight,
- Replaced the rear coloured lenses with clear ones.
- Fixed the indicator problem.
- Stopped the rattling in the heater unit which was bloody annoying.
- Topped up the radiator water.
Couple of small jobs but they make a difference .
I did say I've get pictures but I want to finish Tcutting and polishing first .
Lights left to fix, reverse & numberplate.

Well today I finally got around to Tcutting the rest, I then polished the whole car, also polished the wheels with some special stuff and a toothbrush, topped up the radiator water too as that's rapidly going down, there is a leak too so I need to find out where it's coming from.
Accidentally hit the garage door , scuffed the front bumper and pulled the wheel arch off whilst I was reversing, left a deep gash in the door and also knocked the brick work surrounding it, luckily the damage on her isn't noticeable .
Dad should be bringing home some wheel ramps tonight, so we can drive it up and take a look underneath.
So yeah, quite a nice day on it.
Pictures to follow.
Damage to door & wall,
Just a shiny picture ,

It's because we aren't wealthy enough to make big changes .
Just bought a black and silver numberplate from Craigs Plates.
I'm saving my money for the event at Himley Hall .

I'm going to have to retrace my journey and see if I can spot it.

Apart from that she's fine! excluding the rust though , Dad has just finished painting my new room, few more things to do on that, and then he's going to help me get rid of the rust and such, so I can't wait to get started .
For some reason she seemed to drive so much more nicer today, seemed to tick over better too.
How are you doing man? & your clubman?

nope its wet and chuffing cold here.Probably because its warmer - just taken mine out for a spin (on private land tho... lol... aint passed my test yet!), and it ran much nicer - didnt need any choke to get it going and sounded happy straight away - didnt need any time to warm up

I've decided to take this part by part as I rely on driving her every other day, so I'll sort one section, and move onto the next.
Once I get the tools sorted out I'll ask to have this moved to the Mini rebuild section.

All thanks to Craigs plates!
Finally getting a day with my Dad tomorrow, even turned down my girlfriend to spend some time working on my mini with him, after all I wanted this to be a father son project!
So I've got on the list to fix tomorrow,
+ Reverse light (get her up on the ramps and adjust the screw)
+ Jack up the front and take both wheels off, so we can get a proper look at the rust underneath the arches.
+ Track down the oil leak.
+ Hopefully take out the sender unit if the petrol has gone down more.
+ & by myself, fit the new numberplate, and wash her down & polish, again.

So I've got on the list to fix tomorrow,
+ Reverse light (get her up on the ramps and adjust the screw)+ Jack up the front and take both wheels off, so we can get a proper look at the rust underneath the arches.+ Track down the oil leak.+ Hopefully take out the sender unit if the petrol has gone down more.+ & by myself, fit the new numberplate, and wash her down & polish, again.
So Dad and I got quite a bit done today, even did a few things that weren't on the list.
+ Scrubbed down the front & rear subframe (battery box included) with a wire brush, then applied a thick coat of underseal.
+ Adjusted the carb idle & throttle speed, so she ticks over a lot nicer now, I can even push the choke in all the way without her cutting out.
So we syphoned out the petrol, as we didn't have a see through hose to hand we used an old garden hose, which meant getting a mouth full of petrol! I had a go 3 times but couldn't get it to keep draining through, so Dad bit the bullet and took a big mouth full of petrol, which meant we could drain the tank of petrol and take out the sender unit, had a bit of a play around with it, there was a small rubber gasket that had come loose and was hanging off the arm, so we put that back to it's rightful place and then got the unit back into the tank, filled it up and the level went to half! so we thought we'd fixed it, later took her out for a spin and the gauge was all over the place again .
Enjoy some random pictures.
Seal needs replacing!
