Having realised that the min MOT runs out tomorrow, have managed to get it in @ 9 today...
Only issue is, I was under it giving it the pre-check last night, and I have a feeling that the steering rack has a little too much play in it...
Back in a bit...

 Failed
Advisory on the Steering rack, bonus... ( engines coming out in the next few weeks anyways for the arrghhhhhhh 1/4 mile engine ! )
Failed on headlights, No pattern in one ( duff bulb )
and Hand brake not working one side... ( darn ! )
Left with them to fix as need it sorted for Himley, and if they do it does not need another full MOT.
So will be picking up later. !

Aye, sometimes it's just worth not getting the hands dirty... I don't mind stumping up an hours labour for an MOT...
The main thing is, I'll be at Himley..... Hip-hip-horahhhh !
Think I may take a bit of jumble..

They don't need to fix it for you to not need a fresh MOT, you just need to take it back to the same tester for its re-test and they are only permitted to look at what they failed it on. They aren't even allowed to re-test the whole thing.
Now why is it that when I use Firefox to post on here the tags for colour and size and stuff just don't work, but on Internet Explorer they do?

the board php or whatever is obviously not written to W3 standards.... tutt-tutt...
Ps.. one of those ever lasting questions...
Mozilla (Firefox)
IE
Netscape
Ooppss back to mini's
If it is repaired on site then the retest is not required, only on somethings like emissions can you remove the vehicle and not have require a complete retest, also because of all the new rules, I'm not sure if that hasn't changed now.... may have to go and have a read...

ooh... and I did that bit of reading... regarding retest...
If your vehicle is left with the Testing Station for repair and re-examination – NO FEE
If the vehicle is taken away from the Testing Station and returns for re-examination on other than one or more of the items listed below, the vehicle must be fully inspected on all Testable items, for which the Testing Station may charge (up to) the full Test fee.
Free re-test (one per MOT ) items which do not require the full Test to be conducted if the vehicle is brought back to the station and re-Tested before the end of the next working day:
Items.... .
ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) WARNING
BODY CONDITION (Where the examination of the body is carried out solely for the purpose of ascertaining whether there are any sharp edges or projections likely to cause injury)
BOOT LID
BRAKE PEDAL ANTI-SLIP DEVICES
DIRECTION INDICATORS/ HAZARD WARNING
DOORS
DROPSIDES
EXHAUST
EMISSIONS
FUEL FILLER CAP
HEADLAMP AIM
HORN
LAMPS
LOADING DOOR
MIRRORS
REAR REFLECTORS
REGISTRATION PLATES
SEAT BELTS (But not anchorages)
SEATS
STEERING WHEEL
TAILBOARD
TAILGATE
V. I. N.
WINDSCREEN
WINDSCREEN WIPERS/ WASHERS
WHEELS AND TYRES
As mine failed on the Handbrake, that is an unlisted item, and hence would require a full retest if removed from the testing station.
