If it's an A series then yes. If it's the other Allegro engine (I think it was O series) then no. It's still a 1275 A series engine the same as from a Metro or a 1300 or any other A series, and how good it is will depend on exactly which model of Allegro you are pulling it out of.

dont know exactly which model, but i think its from 1980's and 1500cc ithink ,and it has 5 speed gear box,a non round stearing wheel, this car has been used for racing so its a very powefull engine

No you can't, sorry.
Like I said, the Allegro engine which will fit is the 1275. The 1500 is the O series version.

did the allegro not have a b-series? might be wrong. I know some people have fitted 1500 maxi engines to minis before now, they usually have a bulged bonnet because the block is longer but i would think its far from a straight swap.

Nope, defintely an "O" series, which is an OHC not OHV like the A and B
ended up in the montego and maestro.... ( says it all realy ! )
IMO, if your going to move away from an A series, go for something modern for which you're still going to be able to get bits for, like a "K" series or Vtech

If you move the bulkead further back you can out an E-series engine in a clubby.
Then again its not wrth it now as there is virtually no tuning parts available and fort eh hassle a K-series is much better.
Oh its a common misconception that the Allegros had B-series. O-series was a development of B-series, same (ish) block. Should have gone into the MGB (grrrrr Donald Stokes stopped that!). O-series was then devleoped into the gutles M-series for the 800, then M-series was developed into the T16-series (much better) for the R17 800. Typical BMC>MGR, recycling what they've got becasue of no money!

o-series was also fitted to the montego in 2litre efi configuration, one of the fastest mass produced road cars at one time!
