Ive checked the fit and the standard shields wont fit without some minor mods.... the 4 pot caliper is bigger and it means the shield will need to be trimmed back where the caliper gap is in the shield.... just the outermost edges as far as I can see.... the spacing and brackets will all fit as standard... but you will need to trim the outter edges where the caliper goes.

Hope this helps

Rob

For those interested in this thread.... things have indeed moved on and Im getting closer to the rolling road.....<phew>.... in the mean time heres a couple of pics of a modified SPi engine

Attached File  DSCF1584.jpg   86.69K   205 downloads

Im not happy with the silicon hose that is supposed to be 180 degrees.... so ill prob change it to 2 pieces of 90 with a joiner.... unless I can find a true 180 degree hose in silicon.

Just sorting the starter motor and a couple of other ancilliarys while I wait for the shell..... which im assured is being painted lol..... mates rates dont go with DO IT NOW....lol.... but he is one of those painters that is the ultimate perfectionist.... so ill just tart stuff up till it arrives back.... and I can post pics of the install.... cant wait for the rolling road now.... I feel the end is in sight at last.... as always Kudos to Sprocket...

Hmmmm....... indeed what happened to this rebuild......

Sorry to all who watched with such interest but as usual work got in the way in a BIG way.... infact this is prob the first time since september ive been at home and even had time to look through TMF..... looks like I have about another 2 weeks of not being able to do anything Mini related and then its engine install time. Before I got dragged away I managed to get the rear sub frame installed and the front along with all the hubs so I now have a rolling shell thats painted and with the cage installed. so in a couple weeks time its engine install time and fit all the bits that are stored in the garage.... Ill take a good few pics then and update this thread. My target now is running by Christmas..... so much to do and so little time....

Sorry if its been a drag for those expressing interest.... <must try harder>....... lol

Rob

For those of you who have been following this project with support and interest.... my appologies.... The reason it all came to a halt was....................... I decided that I was going Racing.... The 1380 car is currntly in storage till the good weather comes out in 2011. The engine is fully finished, the shell is finished , with the exception of a loom install. All the subs are in and the suspension fitted. Its just a case of finding time to get the last mile over with. I appriciate that their was a lot of interest but Im now running a race car that needs love and attention and the 2010 season was a steep learning curve.... 2011 brings more work on the race car and its the racing that gets priority at the mo.... I will post some pics up as soon as I can but I have to finish a rebuild for the first race at Silverstone at the end on March.....

Bringing this back from the dead, did you ever get it onto a rolling road?
