Just the backbox. Well the Mini I'm getting is 998 so what would best suit it? I want it deep, throaty, burbly and LOUD!

Sorry to hijack thread. >_<

dont know a lot about these to be honest - all I can suggest is you trawl youtube and see if anyone has videod their mini with one or similar.

my engine is only a 1000cc - but it has got a yamaha badge on it >_<

edit - did a quick search and found this - its a beemer but what a great re-verb ! My theory is that play mini may well 'tune' their exhausts to get the best sound.

my rally car has 1 twinbox maniflow side exit got minispares LCB (stage 2 one i think)
286 cam in it

all the things will make difference to how it sounds but at high revs its just awesome! especialy coupled with the straightcut dogbox and webber

I'm looking to replace my exhaust as I've got the standard peashooter still on it.

I was thinking about a twin exit DTM upswept, what would I need, in terms of manifold, connecting pipe?

& can you get a centre exit twin DTM upswept?

i have a straght thru stainless system from a maniflow lcb ending with a rc40 centre exit twin upswept dtm, its smaller than the cheapo ones and sounds magical!!
not too loud very throaty the odd pop on a down shift etc. (still not great on a long trip)

the engine is a very strong fast road 1340cc tho with a cone filter and there's a lot of inductiuon noise too.

my mate ran a similar engine but 1275 with a k+N and straight thru cheap exhaust from mini spares lcb ending in a cheap ish stainless boxter style back box, it sounded awfull!! brill for showing off but far too loud and backfired when decelerating. (ignition timing was perfect!!)

the police stopped him twice and he finally changed it to a twin box system with almost no noise!!

I have twin boxter exhausts, LCB etc on a 998 1985 Mayfair, its so loud under acceleration yet bareable at 70 mph.

Senile old Git has heard it so second opinion?

Oh so has M!KE

Bought it for £75 all in from Stanford hall last year!

Cheers
