from a quick glance they look like omega's whic would tie in with the MED theory...

What are the numbers/letters on the top and looking from underneath they should say omega

ps. looks like very nicely done too.... just slightly jealous.. How much OOI

Yes they look like the ones designed to go with MED's wedged heads (a trick to reduce chamber volume and hence increase CR even further without clearance problems). Very nice.

Depends how they work. I'm guessing the pistons go up into the combustion chamber of the cylinder head, where the combustion chamber is shaped to mirror the shape of the piston??

Its a 1380 by the sounds of it  Plenty of meat between the centre bores too.

a decent gearbox for a start! try asking Guessworks to sort one out for you, SCCR would be my choice!

Also a decent staged head, stage 3 at least should give you that 100+bhp you're looking for!

If those are the MED pistons then you'll need one of their wedge ground heads or it'll not work well at all. You get higher CR as MED leave pretty much no chamber in the head at all, and wedge the bottom of the head (I think that's how they do it, and then they do something funky to the stud and pushrod holes) so that the valves come down at an angle and dip into the cutouts in the pistons, very high CR and very low chamber volume.

I should imagine a MED head would be upwards of a few hundred quid, depending on what spec you want!

I wonder why someone choose to split the engine in this way? It seems like it should be something that comes as a whole package or not at all!

To drop the c/r you could get the pistons dished, any decent engineer could do it for you.

An MED head will be big money, but they are one of the best producers around I'd say, and worth every penny!
