After many months/years reserching and saving up we've finaly started our B16a2 vtec build. We are building our own frame and will be keeping the front as it is

The mini

a 1988 city which we reshelled a couple of years back into a new BMH shell

Our frame & jig

started on theses today made a jig which uses the normal subframe mounting points. After a couple of hours we had the jig pritty much finished, just needs fome legs welded onto it to obtain the correct height.
once the jig was done we weldded in a brace across the towers and then set about removing the tie rod brackets so that they can be re used.

Lovely subframe you've got there, I wonder what fantastic person let you have it off their gorgeous car? :( And I better be taken for a spin when this is finished! (Don't panic though I wouldn't dream of driving it myself - too terrified incase I break anything!)

With regards to keeping it standard length, what are you doing with the inlet manifold? Are you putting a box into the bulkhead or shortening the manifold itself?

Which exhaust manifold are you going for or are you willing to make/shell out for a bespoke one?

And what are you doing with the alternator??
