Hiya,
another common Question on Getting the engine running.
Background:
Fired Engine up on Friday for first time, was running on 3 cylinders
Sunday: got her running on waht i think was 4 cylinders by pushing an HT lead in, hard to tell with the xhaust off
This Morning: Back to 3 cylinders
Later: Backfiring only.
Would like to say:
exhaust is on so is air filter now
All Ignition is Brand new.
Timing is correct
Mixture is'nt great but wouldnt explain the occurances of firing then not and only on 3
earths are new
SO has anyone got any ideas
3 Cylinders, To What I Thought Was 4, To Backfiring.

It could be air leaks, stuck valves, lean mixture, bad plugs (yes, I saw you said ignition was new)... the list goes on.
How about starting with putting some form of exhaust on the open pipes. If the mixture is rich and the pipes are open or leaking you can get backfiring.

Usually. But it depends on the orientation of the dizzy drive spindle.

Oh, just to add,
Doubt its a sticking valve as its a new Cylinder head, (Refurb)
