1275 A-Seires 11 stud (pre A-plus) Bored out to 74mm (1400)
Centre mainstrap fitted
Wedged, bladed, cross drilled, back drilled, hardened and balanced 1275 crank
Lightened, polished, shotpeened and balanced rods(Awiating Cooper S rods)
Modified 74mm AE pistons
Water pump inlet opened up
Cooper S Full race cylinder head modified with 38/29mm waisted race valves
Fully ported and only polished on the exhausts
Kent 286 camshaft
Duplex Timing chain

Capable of 8750rpm

HIF 44 SU with K&N airfilter.
Water cooled ally inlet manifold matched to the head
This will change to twin HIF 44 Sus when its run in and on N2O

Largebore LCB fitted to full stainless RC40

Gearbox
A plus casing fitted with a straight cut close ratio gear set(Abingdon ratios)
Staight cut drop gears
4 pin diff with 3.65 final drive
Ultralite flywheel
Padle clutch
Quick shift

Once dynod im looking at 140 bhp with N2o at 8000rpm.

erm lots of mods!

SRE built 1293cc, Turbo block, balanced and nitro-caburised crack, centre main strap, ARP rod bolts, shot- peened and balanced turbo rods, forged omega pistons with 15cc dish, MED/piper T3 cam, Duplex gears, SRE head, fully worked, 36x31 SS SRE race valves, 8.2:1 CR, Turbo technics recondition T3 with 360 degree thrust bearing, 2stage boost with new solenoid, 2 maniflow down pipe with lambda sensor for A/F ratio meter and custom maniflow exhaust.
Tran-x SC drops, rebuilt cooper box, 5/16th mounting holes, Green air filter, dump valve, Maestro plenium, intercooler and samco hoses, 2core rad.

up rated coil
up rated ault
metro head with bypass hose taped in

most my money has gone into other parts of the car
engine is the last thing to do on my mini.

but it will always be a 998cc, but lots of engine work one day soon i hope

1293cc Turbo - Metro Turbo block modified to group "A" spec,Hardened crankshaft balanced+wedged,"Carrillo" forged steel con rods,Mahle low compression 15cc forged pistons,4 bolt billet centre main strap,undercrown oil cooling jets, group "A" head gasket,K+N air filter,custom alloy intercooler,Samco hoses,1.5 ratio roller rockers,Group "A" spec gas flowed big valve cylinder head,ARP head studs {11},special cam profile,belt drive cam kit,lightened steel flywheel + backplate,grey clutch diaphram, AP Rally/Race plate,Cooper 's' crank damper,alloy dump valve,billet actuator,Maniflow dowpipe into stainless system,Aldon dizzy, T2 Turbo on modified manifold.
Boost adjustable 8-20psi.
TRANSMISSION-
Jack Knight 4 speed straight cut box,straight cut drop gears,Tran-x limited slip diff,semi helical cw + pinion {3.44},KAD quickshift, uprated driveshafts.

A+ 1380cc, Omega Cast Pistons, Kent MD286 Camshaft, Ni Tempered and reground Crank, Lightened Flywheel, Stage 3 Head (Valve sizes 35.7 / 30), 1.5 Roller Tip Rockers, HIF44 Carb, Maniflow LCB + Superflow exhaust, Aldon Yellow Distributor, Aldon flamethrower Coil + Ignitor Elec. Ignition, Jack Knight S/C C/R Gearbox, S/C drop gears 1:1 ratio, Semi Helical Crown wheel and Pinion 3.44 ratio, Crosspin Diff, Turbo Clutch.

I've got 2 RR results, first being at Aldon where it got 81bhp/5870RPM @ wheels, second was at Richard Longmans following a timing tweak it made 89bhp/?RPM @ wheels (sorry can't be more specific, I'll dig the sheet out later).

Hopefully squeezing a couple extra ponies by dropping the mechanical fan and water pump.

AAU Needle

Rolling roaded to 55ish BHP at the fly!


Plans to get a lighter flywheel!

recon'd bottom end still 1275
1.3:1 rollers

82bhp at the fly
60ish at the wheels.
