Howdy folks. I've finally done it and bought a veedub! Picked up this from South Wales this morning. It's a 1970 1200cc with 1960's panels. A years MOT, and tax exempt for £900. BARGAIN! Needs a few patches here and there, and a half decent interior, but I think it's pretty awesome! Finally got a car that I can jump in with my dusty work clothes on and don't have to worry about it. It may even improve it

Anyway watch this space for developments! the plan is to fix up any rusted areas, get it mechanically 100%, and leave the body as it is otherwise.

Haha afraid not, went to VanWest last weekend, no money left! It would be dangerous now I actually have a VW. The boss and a few guys from work are going down. I'll be at Bristol Volksfest, and vanfest, not sure about any others yet. You coming up for Bristol?

cool welcome to the dark side. running damn low just as it should be. if you got adjusters in the beam watch out for those narrow speed bumps stops the car quick. looks great for the money though i do like the retro look

Yeah it's got a slow lowered front beam, with castor shims. Ripped the seat bolts through the floor getting it on the trailer.. It's low.

Haha cheers then! It looks a bit rougher in the flesh, I asked the guy what colour it was, and he said it was Wickes fence paint But that's what rat is all about

Hah sure! I only got the beetle, because a notch turned up, but the boss wanted it! I had seen that on Volkszone the night before and thought what the hell! It'll just be a summer car I expect.
