what do you mean you don't know anyone

most of TMF own a VW :withstupid:

Thats very true!

But I can't see anyone taking a TMF banner to a VW meet :dozing:
Unfortunatly, my memoary is bad most of the time, I can remember most faces, but not all :goaway:

But hopefully, I;ll be bringing Miss 666Junky with me for a nose about....

 no worries. I'll be going up with work, we're having a stand so I guess I'll get in with them. Only got there on the last day last year, they were all packing up. Seemed like a good show though.

Ordered a scary amount of service bits for the dub today >_<

Cheers! Had a bit of a rubbish day. Tried sorting the brakes today, replaced one brake pipe due to it having a union on the end that was far too small and was wobbling about in the end of the flexi hose :D Fluid was leaking everywhere. How the hell this car has a years MOT I don't know, whoever tested it should be shot. Anyway bled the lot and the brakes were still cr@p, plus the horn grille fell off when I was testing them, and got run over by a car behind.. needless to say I got very *Drunk or yellow human water* off and abandoned it. After that I was leaving work, and on the way out of the gate, I remembered I had left my lunchbox inside, so I parked the mini in the way of the gate so it would block the sensor, and keep the gate open. Went inside, got my box, came back out and the gate had shut onto the mini :P I think the sensor must have been inline with the window, so it thought there was nothing there. Big dent down the side now. Great, like I haven't got enough to do already. I should have gone to art college like I wanted to. Feckin cars. :P

Cheers Mikey. Got to try and get side of the mini sorted for Bristol mini day now. Maybe not working on the beetle this weekend after all.

Did a bit to the beast at the weekend, (now called Milf for some reason.. ;)) My STUFF came!

Posted Image

Serviced the engine with new plugs, leads, point, condenser, dizzy cap and rotor arm, fanbelt, and carb rebuild kit, fitted new wipers and got the motor working, and replaced all the brake components, as they were alarmingly bad and appeared to never have been changed.

Tried bleeding the system through, but no fluid came through for some reason, I assumed an air blockage. Anyway I went home in a p!ss as is the tradition with this car of late, and had a restless night trying to think of a way to get the fluid through. Anyway I woke up and remembered I had dreamt of a way of doing it..

Fitting a tyre valve to the resevoir cap!
Posted Image

believe it or not it worked, attached a tyre inflator, and pumped the fluid through. It bled like a dream after theat, the pedal now hardly moves vefore the car stops, pretty good for drums!

I also discovered the worst bodge in the history of the universe. For some reason, some knob had ground off the bolt lugs that hold on the rear suspension, and very badly welded on 2 penny washers as a replacement :dontgetit: Remember folks, this car has a years MOT >_<

This is what it should look like

Grrreat!

Yet another thing on the to do list :w00t:

I love it really.
