Hello to all,

Just to update on progress, I have recently launched my website for my R1 mini project, its only basic and was made using iweb on the mac which
I recommend to anyone who hasn't got the time or patience to learn software like dreamweaver. I admit most of the site is lots
of boring stuff about the build but I wanted to have a site where mini fans can go and see what its like to undertake a home brew
custom mini build with basic tools and a shed load of enthusiasm. I also hope it provides inspiration for anyone
who wants to build a bike engined mini. Over the coming months I will be updating the site with our progress
and hope to one day have some video clips of the r1 manx screaming its head off!

For anyone who is interested please check out...
www.r1manx.com

Cheers

nb. The site doesn't seem to load in Safari but works fine using Firefox, im trying to sort this with the web host at the moment, please
bear with me if the site goes down now and again.

Hi,

Cool site and good luck with the project.

I've done a similar thing with my own site retromini.co.uk. It's certainly a good way to keep track of what you've been doing and a good excuse to take photos of your mini!

Luke.

Thats great, I appreciat the feedback as to whether or not its working.
Yeah I agree, it's a nice way to keep a record of the project and let other
people see what is involved in a custom build. The retro mini site
looks class nice one. I just can't wait to get her lit and see what the
performance is like!

Hi,
To be honest its too early to tell if the car will be worthwhile doing in kit form,
but the intention from the outset has been to keep a kit in mind just in case the mini
does perform well. When the project is finished I will be using a local trackday course
to extensively test the mini and hope to do some hillclimbs to gauge how it will
cope with being driven in full anger.

If testing goes well and I then feel confident a customer would be really pleased with
the end result, then a kit is definitely in mind. As for price, I just don't know at this
stage of the project but I would intend to keep costs down to a minimum and
offer people an affordable kit. There is a possibility my friend will build one from
my finished design so we can see how hard it is to build the car up from a kit.
I hope this helps....Please keep an eye out on the website for updates and news.

Cheers
