You should be able to get round 90hp out of that.

For your head you might want to ask bluemini. He can make you a nice one for considerably cheaper than MED!

If you want to keep driveability, you might want to try a MG camshaft or the swiftune SW5 (supposed to be great).

Kent 276/286 are supposed to be very nice cams but from what ive heard they aren't the smoothest or best for town driving!

Old Blue had 72bhp at the wheels, and that was from a standard 1275 engine with a Kent 276 cam and roller tip rpckers, which I swapped in favour of a Richspeed head because it was better on fuel and didnt loose any power either.

MED are the best around, but like everything, you pay for what you get so your gonna be payin laods for a very good head from them.

Kent 276 cam is as big as you want to go if you want to keep it drivable, at tickover it is almost as smooth as a normal cam, but its got the extra power right when you need it.

And the engine size is ideal, 1293 is nice and strong and fairly cheap to achieve, whilest being pretty good on the fuel too.

(sorry) whats the advantage of having a 1293 over a 1275?

and roughly how much do you think a 1.3 1991 cooper would give out?

i think its a 1275 im not sure?
