Yeah, well, I don't know, I really don't. I was caught it the kerfuffle on the M6 southbound today and had to get to a job interview, so after things had cleared I put my foot down, and *may* have been doing 90. Anyway on the way back I spotted about 3 or 4 sets of average speed cameras on that side which must be new, and that I must have driven through... bugger. I am only on 3

My dad was doing 140+ on the motorway and the police where doing 150, but he only got £60 and 3 points as the speed couldn't be proved (was totally stupid and not saying it to boast)

You may get they same but 100+ is a ban....

Not heard of anyone being done by the average speed cameras as of yet, anyone know if they can use the digital cameras yet? Last thing I read said that they cant but that was a long time ago.

The law is the law, I can assure you it doesn't allow other speed limits for Volvos or Ferraris. You might argue there were mitigating circumstances in court but it could get you a bigger slap on the wrist if the magistrates decided it demonstrated a bad attitude. If they were active average speed cameras then it's very likely the limit was reduced to 50mph. If there were no closed lanes or workers the cameras may not have been switched on.

I bet there's plenty of info on the web.

i ment, if your driving a smart car (not an actual smart car) rather than some old rustie fiesta or somthing as an example, cops might view it as unsafe and look for bad points and thus more likly to be in the mind set to ban or what ever may

My brother was doing 130mph on a motorway once (stupid fool) copper pulled him over and said

'Do you know how fast you were going sir'

my brother replied

'No officer im afraid i dont'

copper replied

'93mph'

Needless to say my brother almost snatched the 6 points and £120 out of his hand.

Ive your lucky it will 3 points and £60 if your unlucky you will get the same as my bro. :)

Depends how long you have had your licence.

6 points in your first two years is a ban and fine usually

Tut tut
