can anyone tell me how to replace the driveshaft gaiter?? apparently they hardly ever split, but funnily enough mine has!
Is it simply a case of cutting the clips and sliding the old one off, n then sliding the new one on?
anything i should be careful off??

it depends, there are 2 different types, a solid one which needs the drive shaft taking out, and a cut, fit and glue type which you dont need to take the drive shaft out.

There is only one area to be careful with that I can think of.
Most boot kits I've seen come with nylon cable ties to secure the boot instead of the nice metal bands. If you use these pay attention to the one on the CV joint and make sure there is no chance for the locking boss on the cable tie to foul on the cast hub. If there is any question, you have two options. 1) go to your parts supplier and ask if they have the metal bands and locking tool for them. 2) go to the DIY store and look for soft iron tie wire, something around 1 to 1.5mm diameter. Wrap a loop of the tie wire around the boot, twist the ends together and trim the twisted length to about 10mm. Position the shaft with the twisted bit "up". Thinking about which side of the car this shaft is for, tap the twisted ends so they will point toward the back of the car.
