Hi

I'm Zilpher, from Swindon in Wiltshire.

I have an 85 Mini Ritz that had rusted to a bucket of bolts by 89, so in 92 I had a full respray done by Somerford Mini Specialists (it took me that long to save!). Somerford sprayed him Tartan Red, with W&P arches, and 12" slotmags.

Tadz (my Mini) was used every day until 2001, having no garage at the time, he sat on the drive and eventually the weather got the better of him, and now (I moved, and had two kids) he is sitting in my garage, waiting for better weather so I can strip him, and learn how to weld. Gulp.

My 5 yr old son Jackson, loves Mini's, they are his favourite cars, and we have plans for Tadz this year. Jackson wants me to race him, I fancy a weekend road cruiser :)

I have joined this board for inspiration, encouragement and help, I have a budget of £0, so I'll do it all myself, with Jackson's help of course :)

I know what you mean when you say a budget of 0.. Thats me :)

Its impossible to do it with 0, but if you can set aside 50 pounds that'll be more than enough to buy all the small bits that will be needed.

Most important thing is take your time. You'll find great...well finds :)

I found a mk2 mini which i got for free, an mk3 mini which i got parts off for free. both are stripped cars but perfect for spares and some panels/doors etc. Just what you need to practice welding on and get parts off! :)

Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay which will hopefully be long :)
