Yeah a stadium truck would be good. I just want something that will last, I had a kyosho alpha ten, that broke every time I used it.

I want to be able to arrive start it, thrash it around for an hour or so and then go home.

That's why I was looking at the rush, just looks a nice simple rugged little thing.

If you can afford it, get a Savage.

It's very hard to break a Savage. With that Rush (which I think his discontinued now) if you clip something with the front wheel, you're likely to break it.

Definitly go HPI though, the plastic they use is very strong but has a bit of give in it before breaking so it tends to absorb alot of shock.

However it must be said, any nitro car is going to need maintaining :shifty:.

Thanks Bernard for the Model Link.Have just had a good look on it.Some very nice models and fair costs.
The Traxxas Jatto has loads off price.I have been very happy with mine and had it a long time.I only use it on open areas as im not an expert Driver glad the brake works well.
I do think the other member would get more than £200 for his Model to be honest to a new R.C. customer starting off on expensive Models.
Some great info and Pictures still adding here.
I do have an electric Tamiya Monster Beetle somewhere to part with if any one needs one.It has many odd spares with it.There is a fast motor in it so rev. has gone.Has a spare Box but thats also gone on rev.Spare red Chassis etc..
The beetle body has gone so it has a tough old truck body on it open back Pick-up.Electronic Rec. and Radio inc.All in original Box.Contact me on Friends if anyone needs it all very cheap. :P

Yes above Parts do cost to much for all of them.If somene is interested in your models i an sure they will post you on friends chat.I am sticking with Traxxas the parts are not to bad and still great fun.It does like back tyres.
£100 well spent above and all the spares.I like the electric start on my car.Even when left for months a couple of carb top ups and shes off.

i got bored while making my 1:10 scale clubman estate shell to fit on a home made chassis, so i used the abc countryman shell i used as a mould and knocked up my own rc car, home made steel plate chassis, but using the running gear from a tamiya mini (speed controller, forward/reverse) and the wheels/steering/rear set up from a mardave ministox, it has pretty much no ground clearance, so for smooth black top only, and it can spin on the spot there is so much power going through the back wheels! (ill be bringing it to mitp with me :) ) here are a few pics of the finished article...

That must have taken some time to make above.Looks very nice. Can you not extend the body mounts and make spacers to raise boby about 5mm.

it only took a few hours to put it together, the decals took the longest to put on, everything else was pretty quick! i still have to tweek the ride height, but i dont want to raise it to much as it looks pretty cool with the slammed look! ill be re-designing the rear body mount, as the shell does clip the tyres a little, but it'll only be raised about 1mm for that tiny bit more clearance

you can still get the tamiya boomerang (but a slightly updated version for better availabilty of parts) for about £140!

yeah this is a keeper for now, i wana eventually convert it to nitro, but with the same ground clearance! :P should be rapid as muck then! lol thats the good thing with a homemade chassis, u can modify it to what ever spec you want, and not be restricted to what will fit (my girlfriends dad has rc helicopters, and some spare engines..... :) and no, not to turn it into a flying mini lol )
