thought I better introduce myself
I've just bought my first mini (and Im 31), bloomin fantastic ... love it
its a 1986 mini city 1000, with a metro 1275 (12HC) engine, 13 inch minilights, sportspak arches, cooper interior (apart from the drivers seat which I have replaced with a lowback bucket seat classic style), its got an lcb and complete performance exhast system, k&n
its blue with a white roof (roof is done to look like the ace of spades playing card) and it has a white square on each door for a number (racing style)
plans are to tidy it up, sort the paint out as its flat as a pancake, get another classic bucket seat
I plan to do some tinkering with the engine, would love to get to about 100 bhp at the wheels, but I know that will take a lot of time and money, so prob do some quick fixes first.
so thats me
Cheers
Phil

I'll sort some pics, I've got some on my pc at work, I'll post them tomorrow
Today, I have changed the tie bars, one front wheel bearing, lower arm bushes on one arm (did the other in the week), new top ball joint, new brakes all round (pads and shoes), fitted a seat restraint (to stop the drivers seat tipping forward), adjusted the handbrake .... oh ... and taken it for a good blast
took about 4 hours to do the lot
mind you, that is with the help of my father in law, he cut is mechanic teeth on mini's when they where new fangled front wheel drive things .... its amazing what he knows and even has spanners pre bent to get into the difficult spots
I'll sort the pics tomorrow
Cheers
