Well plans change again and again I guess. I've decided I want Exacton wheels on Elliot now, I found an amazing picture on here and photoshopped it a bit:

This is the look I want. I hope whoevers picture this is doesn't mind me using it.

Starting to sort some extra time to work on the Mini now, starting next week I should be able to work on Wednesdays.

That look is money, similar to a look I have been thinking about as well.

Just had another play, which of these two wheel schemes do you like:

I'm quite liking the one on the back, but we shall see. All views are welcome :genius:.

See link below. £50 for the four, the tyres are probably scrap.
Can deliver to Lancaster or you can collect if you want a nose around my minis!

Just don't be too definate at the start about what you're going to do, no one will notice if you change your mind later on!

I prefer the rear design too by the way :-

Haha yeah, that's the way forwards I think.

I'm glad someone else does, because I really love them like that. The more I look at the front one the more I think they just look like steel wheels with the raised bit and the lip painted orange. Where as the back ones are unmistakably alloy wheels. I think that's what I'm going to go for.

Should be picking that set up off GraemeC next weekend. Then I just need to find out what the best brakes I can put under them are, I have a feeling 7.9 won't fit so it might be 7.5 with alloy 4 pot callipers.

nice! i cant decide which design i like better to be honest! any one you go for will look great!

plans always change, the bean was going to be white with cooper S steels and no arches... lol!

i have 7.5s, original S brakes, they are brilliant, 10's are great for corners! you'll love it!

See I don't know what to go for brakes wise.

The guy I asked about what brakes he was running under his exactons said he has 7.9 sold grooved discs with Mini Sport callipers and he said they feel a bit pants. Are the Mini Sport alloy callipers all they're cracked up to be or should I save some money and grab myself a 7.5 cooper S setup? I'm aiming for about 90bhp from the engine I build, is the cooper S setup going to be up to the task?

i would say yes.... i have heard that the minisports arent as good as the 'S' and if you have a servo as well... i think it should be fine... i met a guy who had a 1430 with drums on... lol

Sounds a bit of a nutter! Haha.

I don't have a servo on my car, nor any intention to fit one as I prefer the firm feel without one >_<.

Choices choices!

I'm running cooper 7.5s on the van, I love them. I don't think the minisport ones are up to be much either - nobody really ever seems happy with them. I got mine brand new from minits, they're about the same price as alloy ones when you work it out.

Well if they can stop your van (insert massive amounts of jealousy over your van) alright they must be perfectly fine on a regular sized Mini.

Elliot has 8.4's at the moment, am I going to notice any difference between those and the 7.5's?

What would I need to convert to cooper S? I have a feeling it's:

Callipers
Discs
Drive flanges

But could I not get the callipers and some turned down 8.4 discs to avoid the need for the new drive flanges or am I just causing myself needless bother?

See I would go for this http://www.minispare...ty=pb&pid=35799 but when I look on Mini Sport and see things like this http://www.minisport..._21A1270HD.html it makes me wonder, if there is a hardened version, is the original rubbish?

I'd appreciate your views on this guys.
