I have a mini 1000 1083 (2 weeks new to me) whichs runs on unlead fuel the problem is i wish to check timing and such like but dont know if i will bugger up timing by ref to hand book for correct speeds will they have being changed to run on unleaded. It hesitates on acceleration could this be my problem........

First thing to check is the oil in the dashpot :wink:

First top up the dashpot as said by woody (this is always a good thing).
Then just maybe you should tune your carb, the mixture might be out.
If you want to tune your timing, invest in a timing light (they're like 30 pounds or something).

the timign for unleaded is about 2 degrees retarded of the book

Probly find its the vacume advance is broken on the dizzy if it heasitates on accelleration. Pull the black straw off the carb that goes to dizzy, stick the end in your mouth and suck gently, then stick your tongue over the end. If it sticks to your tongue its ok, the vacume is working, if it doesnt stick, then looks like a trip to the scrappy...
