Right then, there is loads of milky stuff in the rocker box and it feels like its miss-firing too. There is no water in the oil and no oil in the water.
If you boot if, the tappets sound like they are miles out, but the miss-fire seems to clear up.
If I take the the leads of no2 or no3 it doesnt seem to affect the tickover, but when I take them off 1 and 4 (one at a time) you can tell because it starts to miss-fire.
I'm also gettin 10 miles to the gallon too and a couple of flat spots on accelleration and if I let the engine run on its own without any accellorater or break, it jolts around like made (all mounts and bushes are good).

So what do you guys recon, head gasket blown or a bad valve??

i had that exact problem before, and on light accel u dont notice it???

mine was that the head was slightly warped between chambers... this was remedy'd with a minispeed "performace" head gasket... once the engine was under load it would leak between the bores, but when there was less load it cudnt squeeze past... maybe this is ur fault.. dunno.

as a guess i would go with the " leaking between 2and 3" theory. head off and a gentle skim ?

Weird as it is im having the same problem with the spark lead removal (1 and 4 serious, 2/3 unaffected), yet I have no milky stuff!!!!!

Also the engine dies without choke (but this might not be too lean mixture since my choke also applies a heavy dose of that throttle screw, so the revs go up a lot), but when pushing throttle it stutters a bit as if its too rich :S
