Does anyone have any ideas for replacing the rectangular rear lights? Every mag I see, no matter how much work anyone does to their mini, the rear lights are the same - maybe with clear lenses, but still rectangular! I'd like, at some time, to do something round with them - to keep the overall round shape of the car going to the back. Any ideas? *

putting new mini lights in a traditional mini would be interesting - i've seen the freelander lights - still rectangular, but flatter. I keep on looking at other makes of car - trying to picture their lights on my car! :erm:

See the pic in Brawlyrox's avatar, that one has modded rear lights. The fella made them out of scaffold tube with a small round light in each and flushed them into the back, 2 each side above each other. Looks realy smart, I'll dig the mag out with them in and try and post a pic...
Failing that, if your feeling well off you could buy a set of lghts from Auto Fashion for bout £90 that turn them into 2 round ones either side, I saw one at a show and it looked really tacky tho, not worth that kind of money in my opinion.

Frenched round lights look really nice IMHO, if a bit "custom" (i.e. not classic at all).
They do require quite a lot of work, and will cost you quite a bit to get done because you want someone skilled in body work or else itll look really C**p.
I love the look of them but like I said, VERY expensive I would imagine (even fuel tank needs modifications as far as I know..)
What I'm trying to do is make something out of perspex, a curved thing, but its proving rather hard :S
