Im really sorry to bother you all, but thought id ask. Any help would be much appreciated as I dont know if im posting in the wrong places or not.

I have got a 1 litre, 1978 mini, which is in better than average condition, i also have a bent R1, the engine in in mint condition. I want to put the engine in the front in a pro motive style kit to keep the car useable, as I think a Z cars kit make makes practicality a little limited.

What is the situation with doing this to a car with things such as V5 documents and MOT's etc.

If its not registered correctly then surely you can get 'done' if you get pulled over?!

And what about insurance?

Thanks again.

Well i was assuming that because the engine has in theory been changed that this would need to be registered somewhere? is this ot the case?

Cheers for the help

The engine change is easy fill in the relevant section of your V5 and send it to DVLA, insurance is fairly straight forward as well go to a specialist insurance company someone like Adrian Flux and declare all modifications and pay your money, if your young and got plenty of points this will be at the very least expensive.

MOT's a bit of a problem some garages may refuse to test a bike engined mini, but just try around you will find somewhere

Cheers
David
