i know this is bordering on styling, but does anyone know of any kits that are made that allow the fitment of a braided line from the top of both the clutch and brake master cylinders on a dual brake line system, ive seen the special unions somewhere and cant remember

I've got a braided hose from the top of my Clutch Master Cylinder directly to my Slave cylinder! I bought it from JWD Autorite in swindon (number is 01793618810)
but I'm sure you can get it form mini spares or mini sport

Yep, I got the same thing from MiniSpares only last week! Am switching all my clutch and brake lines over to braided.

you do realise that you will loose some feel in the pedal, flexible pipes should only be used where they are necessary ( ie where this is movement ) there is so substitute for a solid copper ( or what ever it is now ) pipe.

I only used it on my clutch, wouldn't think of using it on my brakes anywhere other than when the existing flexipipes are! My clutch was leaking from the join between the copper pipe and teh flexi pipe so I just took it out!

Hmmm, I just want to get away from those awful union things you get on the ends of copper pipe, I've never come across one that has been easy to remove!

I agree that they can be a pain sometimes, but invest in a line wrench or two and you'll be laughing...

They aren't meant to be easy to remove, they're meant to hold hydraulic oil under pressure without leaking which they do pretty well. They are called flare nuts and you are supposed to remove them with flare nut spanners. If you don't have any of these then it's not really surprising you find them hard to undo is it? :tongue:

hmm im thinking about doing this at a later date now, im going off to get new unions and copper pipe from a local supplier, i'll try braided and see what i think at a later date, im very interested in keeping the feel/modulation in the brakes as im a little bit of a racing driver at heart...

Quesion!!
Since I'm car illiterate person, is changing brake and clutch line straight forward (of course with flare nut spanners)?
Or do I have to remove few parts to replace the original brake lines and clutch.
