Id engine number

Hi guys just got a mini to do up the engine number is 99HA53P can anyone give me any info about this engine (size unleaded leaded A+ etc )???????

Hmmm i found 99HA35P
which would be:

998 A+ block with centre locating tang in main cap, 1985 onwards
Flat top piston with circlip wrist pin retention

99H/B81 Up to engine number 127431
99H/C20 Up to engine number 105023
99H/997 From engine number 127422 with 2.95 final drive
99H/A35P

But not seen anything on 99HA53P

That's a typo on that website. That info does indeed refer to your engine number 99H/A53P.

If you check the original source for the data (the Minispares parts catalogue) where it was badly but very obviously copied wholesale from then you can see that it should definitely read 53P.
