Hi, Got a problem back at base.
I am trying to get my engine running now it is all finished. I
have bought a gunson colour tune set to set the mixture,
but obviously i need to have the engine running to do that!
Now there is my problem i cant get the b****rd to run for more than
5 secs! The carb is a HIF 44, how should i set the mixture screw to start
it and also the idle, choke cable and accelerator cable butterflies?
As i think its just flooding at the mo! Any ideas and tips would be much
appreciated.

Set the jet flush with the top of the bridge and then wind the jet two flats (or 2/6ths of a turn on a HIF) down from there. Same as the initial position for all SU's. And wind the fast idle screw well clear of the cam, set all cables so there is 1/16" free play. Setting up the initial position is all listed in the Haynes.
