An ad from 1963. Note the unique door window. Sliding windows aren't ideal for our hot and humid climate. So, as an option, the distributor modded it to winding, using the larger sliding glass as the main glass and trimming the smaller piece and fixing it dead. Winding machinism was from the Morris Minor.

Malayan Motors are still around, still selling Jaguars, Bentley, Bugatti and Volvo trucks.

Anyone has any ads from that era?

The add is probably more from 1961/62, because the 'Super' model was only available for a very short time. It was quite a special model and shared it's trim levels with the early Cooper (i.e. duo-tone paintwork, seats, oval pod dash, boot board & trimmed top dash rail etc), but it had the standard 848cc engine, single leading shoe drum brakes all round and the magic wand gear-change.

I know someone who will be really thrilled with that add because she owns at least 3 1960's Mini Supers herself.

I do like these old mini ads and have been looking into them for some time now, to me they never matched the
car tho, they were too tame. BMC/BL really didnt have much of an idea when it came to advertising and marketing.
Although you could say the mini sold itself anyway so why did they need to...? The 60s ads for the beetle were
great in my opinion, if only mini had had something similar, heres a few examples, genius.

cheers, chilly

Well thankfully the Mini received the best advertising ever and that was a part in 'The Italian Job', something that helped sell if for decades.

exactly, much better advertising in something like the Italian job.much longer lasting as well.
There are a number of good mini ads out there, can anyone remember any that stick in their mind?
