I looked at mine(im 19) with the post office, Bog standard mayfair 998cc with seats and alloys declared with 1 years NCB + Pass Plus and mother as named driver. Roughly £600, add a turbo it only goes up to £850! Then made myself 5 months older to 20, and it went down to £746.

I think the turbo route is calling!

When i was 18 i was paying £1200 in my first yr with Frizzell and sub branch of LV - FC and me as the named driver just then went down to £800 then £650 the yr after. Too be honest your address can effect your insurance

my best so far are

CIS Endsleigh Chris knotts if you are over 18 and LV

For some reason i cant seem to get any reasonable quotes anywhere, the only way i stand a chance of insureing my car is under my dads name, thanks fully with them i can build up my no claims discount!

virgin insurence are realy cheap, i payed £500 a year fully comp back when i was 17 on a 998cc mini city E
and they dont charge intrest to pay monthly like most do. also if you get a qute and tell them you have had a cheaper one of privalige they will match it, (just make a qute from privalige up lol)

Im now 22 with 3 points and a claim and i have a 2liter 16 valve twincam toyota MR2 G-limeted Jap import with virgin for only £732 a year fully comp not bad.

and my mini is insured with lancaster insurance its a 1988 Mini Mary Quant Designer with a 1293cc engine, big wide alloys, roll cage and a play mini exhaust all declaerd to them and its £320 a year fully comp with breakdown and a acreed value thing.

all in my own name too

I got a quote on a modded 1275 Cooper under my mum and dads name Third party fire and theft by Quinn Direct for £1500 when I passed my test my mum told them and they said I had to pay them £700 more so I ended up paying £2200

I was 17 when quoted 1500 and 18 when they added £700.

So be careful not to get stung like me.

I've just turned 21 but i've been with Elephant since I was 19 - they've always been a fair few hundred quid cheaper than anyone else i've had a quote from.
