Okay I pulled off the plastic thing (steering surround) off my GT, and at the back of the ignition barrel (which by the way is suspiciously wrapped and covered in electrical tape) there are THREE wires. Don't remember the colours offhand but two of them are closer than the third one.

I want to have a button that I can start the car with WITHOUT having keys in the ignition, but instead run through a rocker switch (car won't get stolen, you should see the state its in, and there isnt anywhere to run on this small island).

Which wires do what? I'm bloody confused with all those lines in the Haynes wiring diagram, i'm getting dizzy!

Hey,this is fairly simple,it works ive done it! break in(who cares how, figer it out!climb through window, put window out,or be clever n get a glass cutter)there should be sum hard plastic around da ignition hole, pull it off, there shud b a blackbox, and a black cable goin 2 the ignition hole, pull the cable away from the ignition hole, done, now the other side of the black box there shud b 3 cables(they mite b raped up,if so unrap n break the protection)3 cables will b there, cut all da wires try them all 2gether and wait for da ignition 2 start keep 2 wires connected, break da steerinwheel lock(pull hard as #*@! on 1 side till it snaps) now ur off!

disclaimer wasnt written by me!!! and i DO NOT break in cars!!!

Done it too now :)

Now just waiting to get a pretty switch and button!

Simple as hell really, and really fun when you're holding the 3 wires in your hand! I kept turning over the engine for fun, even though my battery is dead :)
