I thought I'd add this into for anyone who may have it fitted already or is considering it. That is the electronic distributor as fitted to the MG Metro and most likely other carb Minis ( the one with the ignition module on the side and probably the 65 DM4 dizzy).
Please note I'm by no means an expert in this but having read nearly every thread on this site about it I hope some of the info I have found will help you as it has helped me.

You may have already read through the frequent questions page and seen the helpful diagram showing the wiring. Attached are a couple of photos showing the result. The module appears to come as either a 2 pin or 3 pin version but even the 3 pin only has two wires running from it. White to positive side of the coil and white/black to negative. You need the switched 12v feed to the positive side of the coil as explained in that guide. In my photos the rev counter wire ( also white/black is seen connected to the negative also).

My main problem was that all of a sudden I had no spark. I think the wiring was incorrectly fitted by the previous owner and was a surprise it ever ran but eventually it must have blown the module. Trying to track down a 3 pin version, I started off by checking the well known Mini suppliers but they appeared to only show 2 pin versions and thery wanted a hefty £35 each for them (why?). My local motor factors could supply either a 2 or 3 pin version for a slighly better £25 but check these links or google the part numbers 15410 or 15420

http://partfinder.sm...amp;value=15410

and you will find online suppliers selling for around £12 plus vat !!

even better I checked the cross reference vehicles list and saw that Rover 100's use them. My local breakers yard seems to have a load of these and the non injection models have the very same module bolted to the dizzy ( 3 for £20 not bad)

Anyway I'm up and running again with a couple of spares. I hope this is of help.

 Ive only just fitted mine and had to struggle on to work the wiring out!! If i waited 1 more day i could have copied it from here!! Anyways yes that certainly was a help. I got one spare module from a K series just incase from a scrappy and didnt want anything for it, so it pays too keep looking.
