Which Engine Stand To Buy?
#1

with my min due to be moved into the garage and the engine removed soon, i need to buy an engine stand sharpish. but im not sure which ones will do the job well.
how much does an a-series with all ancillaries weigh?
and does anyone have any advise on which stand to get from their experience?
my needs are to be able to stick a fully ancillaried 998 on it and to clean it, paint it, get it working. then im going to build an a-series so i suppose lots of access would be useful. its also going to have to be wheeled around and in and out of my garage at times for access. so need one that rolls fairly well.
any ideas or help?
ones ive found so far ar the:
Clarke CES 500A for £38.76
Clarke CES 750A for £56.39
Sealey ES350 for £46.36
Sealey ES450 for £57.16
thanks,
Oli

It was on a flyer i got in the post from them, it might have a discount code on it somewhere but it's in my car at the mo and it's way too cold to go out there!

gaffa tape and a bit of glue
They are usally supplied with various extension type arms and with or without these you can bolt the engine block to the stand
So the arms bolt into unused holes on the block you mean or what?

How you mean to get the engine on it anyway, you'd need a couple of people to hold the engine up whilst a third bolt it to the stand wouldn't you?
