:) Good work mate, looks well tidy!

You deserve a pat on the back! Just need to sort that wrinkle out on the bit covering the fuel tank :)

Change the 6x9's for 6.5" components to make sound quality better. Move the 6x9's somewhere else to allow air movement between the boot and the cabin so you can actually hear the sub. Invest in a decent sub, with the clear notion of quality over quantity. It's much better to go for a more expensive sub which gives quality bass (Alpine, Pioneer, JL Audio, MTX etc) than a cheaper one which boasts massive power but gives shoddy sound quality. Lower guage oxygen free speaker cabling so your speakers get sent the best possible sound. You've already got a decent amp

I'm not slating your build by the way, in fact i think its damn good, especially for an A level project ;) . I think you should get an A* just because you've built it in a mini. Timeless piece of design youre driving around there which should add to you're grade :)

You could possibly change the HU for something that allows you to dock an ipod. It looks like you've already got an aux cable to play an MP3 player through but a dock cable would let you charge it too. You could possibly knock something up to hold you're ipod in whilst driving, save it sliding around the place. You could also move the HU from where it is at the moment slung under the dash rail on the passenger side to the dash or into a centre console so the driver can access it more easily.

Thats all i can think of at the moment. Best of luck with the project matey

Excellent reply from carts60, basically said everything I was going to say >_<

You could always replace the 6x9's for 6.5" components, and mount them in the front so that the air waves have less to travel to get to your ears.

I've got a Pioneer 10" 350 watt rms sub with box for sale if you are interested? As well as a few other speakers etc from my Mini, which competed in a few sound off's back in its day.

Looks like a great project for DT A Level! :(

Very tidy install. In terms of improving things - it's all in the details. the things I would try to improve are:

- Try to smooth out any wrinkles in the Vynal
- Where the cables go through the floor try and find some sort of black/silver gromet that is tha same size for all the holes to tidy up the look
- What is the white stuff in the back passenger corner? Get rid of it if you can.
- Try and tidy up the edge of the petrol tank cover and the other side, have you thought of taking it to a seamstress to get them to put a piped edge on it?
- Better venting of the sub into the cabin, if your going to leave the 6x9's in consider boxing them individually as well.
- Put grills on the 6x9's
- Cover the little gap at the bottom of the sub box
- Try and flaten out the floor so it is level with the rear board
- Change the sub wiring for as large a cable as you can afford/fit. OFC cable is the best (halfords should sell it)
- For the ohh ahh factor you could put in a coloured neon or some lighting in to enhance the look of the amp.

Is the sub actually mounted in a box or is the board its mounted in just a panel? It's hard to tell from the pictures.
