Hey, i was wondering if anyone has any ideas what could be wrong with my mini, there's a squeaking coming from the front drivers side wheel when the wheel is moving. I've had the hub, bearings and ball joints replaced, but its still doing it. Help!!

Cheers
Sarah

I used to have a funny squeak come from the drivers side front wheel, seemed to dissappear when I fitted new front cones. Interestingly the squeak didn't come back when I refitted the original cones.

I was wondering if it was the cv joint, but do you need a special tool to get the old one off?

It is getting really annoying! I keep getting worried that when i go round a corner my wheels gonna fall off!

That's impressive traction :)

Try and decide if it's speed related, if it is look at rotational bits starting with your brakes. If it seems more bump related look at the suspension, pump some grease in; swap your shockers side to side and then work your way through the rubber bushes and mounts.

It is speed related, as the wheel gets faster, the noise get faster, but as soon as you apply the brakes it stops. I was thinking of taking the back plate off, just to check its not that hitting the disk....

She needs new brake disks on the front, but i want to see if I can find what the squeak is, so I can buy bits for that if I need to.

Cheers for everyones help! :)

Could be pads or a warped disc, back the pads off and try a short drive without touching the stop pedal - just be wary in case you do need the brakes as the pedal may need pumping to stop.

You could also try taking the pads out...simple job.... and VERY LIGHTLY smearing some copperslip ON THE METAL BACKPLATE.... not the fricton material lolol....

Yeah

It sounds like the pads catching on the disc as the wheels rotate, could also be that pads are getting low on friction material.

Take a look at the pads and get them changed if required.

ITS FIXED!!

Thanks all you lovely people for your help!

Turned out it was the brakes! I took her out today and was braking going down a hill, then she kept doing it really badly, got home to find my new brake discs and pads that Id ordered had arrived, got my bf to fit them (!) and now there is no squeaking! Yay! Now to get my sanity back!! ;) :dontgetit:
