We have just bought an '85 mini ritz with Yokohama 175/50 R13 tyres. I believe that the correct tyre pressure is 30psi, is this right??

1969-2001 Mini Haynes manual states: -

175/50 VR X 13 .......... Front 2.0 bar .......... Rear 1.8 bar

(so that should be ........ Front 28 psi ............ Rear 26 psi)

However it also states: -

Note: Pressures apply only to original-equipment tyres, and may vary if other makes or types are fitted, check with the tyre manufacturer or supplier for correct pressures if necessary.
