Firstly I took the front and rear 'Mini Cooper' Winged Badges off, these are now up for sale if anyone wants them

Here's what she looks like de-badged, until I get a new front badge courtesy of Lisa and a new rear badge courtesy of eBay

Lifted the carpet on the passenger side and, well, it was a bit of a mess.
Here's the before and after pictures of the front floor pan. It got dark earlier than expected so excuse the poor "after" pics...

Where the front passenger side floor meets the crossmember...

Rear passenger side floor...

After all that painting it was "cup of tea and a couple of buns with smarties on top" time!

Before clearing up I couldn't resist putting the new Black & Silver rear plate on... also I removed the chrome British Isles badge which is also up for sale...

I think the plates really suit her

Next on the list when it's light is to give the driver side front & rear floorpans the same "sand down and treat with hammerite" treatment, then paint all of them over with matching (or near as damnit) paint, so it looks a bit neater

i totally agree that the black and silver plates totally suit the older minis much better, i'm pretty sure i'll put black and silver ones on mine and keep some legal ones in the boot just in case

Looking better and better

I've decided to make a "running list" of things I have done, and things I have got to do. Partly to accompany this project topic and partly to remind myself what I've got to do and partly for when I get annoyed I can look and see what I've done

List is now on the main post

Tackle the grubby interior - due to lack of funding I will just clean up the existing seats as they're actually in excellent condition, just a bit mucky
clean mini man! i would be real interested to see what you do with your seats. i have the same pattern seats in my 1980 leyland and they are also in somewhat decent condition. i can rip off the good condition cloth and put in leather covers or sell the seats as is on eb@y but i don't know if they are worth anything special.
as you can see the brown and the green just don't work eventhough i think this color scheme is how it looked out of the factory.

Lovely little mini, aren't those seats comfy?

The caption I put on that picture is "It's only this big!"

Today's progress... slow but sure...

New Shield badge on front

New 850 badge on boot

Tomorrow Evey is going in for a Crypton (or is that spelt with a K, like the old adventure show Krypton Factor? Who knows... anyway I digress) Engine Tune, timing etc and having the clutch adjusted.

The wheels have a bit of rust so that's a job for the summer... sand the rust off and paint them shiny shiny white
