Don't want affend but 'cherry bomb' isn't that like boy racer.. if you want a nice sound you need a strong engine and a maniflow manifold with rc 40 and de-cat pipe!! funny thats just what i have lol.

Hey anything other than a standard exhaust must sound better.. than the pea shooters fitted as standard.

The only difference is I will need a new engine and gearbox after it :( The 850's just the 'free revving engine' thats all really, nothing special, It can be bored to an 890 (I think) but theres no point really, not much in the way of power gains. Standards probably good for 30 bhp set up :w00t:

O well!

I'm not sure you're ready for this!

I quote (*ahem*):

" After December 1963 the crank shafts were conciderably strengthened, and are now safe upto 7000 - 7500 r.p.m though, occasional use fo 8000 r.p.m is quite common, especially if a vibration damper is used"

Tuning The Mini, 3rd edition by Clive Trickey

.... price 90p :(

Were'nt the vibo dampers fitted to early coop's ? ?

Yes, the 850 crank can rev to 7500, and due to the stroke is likes to rev more than other engines (although not the 1071, or other short strokers), BUT you rev limit should be set by the weakest part of the engine, so you'd probably find that you'd get valve bounce before that 7500rpm, and I'm not sure your rocker assembley would be upto the job either. The gearbox tends to be fapped by torque, rather than revs.

Click below

ok you can only just here the exhaust, and the tappets are knocking there nuts off but you get the idea., the purpose of the video was for the carbs but there is a moment where you can here the exhaust. its a nice note on tick over i think...

there are other videos of her around some most prob show the exhaust better.
