I got a quote with Groupama for £931, quite a decent saving of £300 there for waiting a few days. Very pleased, especially as not many people would insure me with my alloys. :P Now for the driving. >_<

Here in Spain the insurance for a classic car is very cheap comparating with yours:

Mini from 1974. A basical insurance with a 5000 km/year ( about 3.100 miles) limit and car assistance with a 100 km ( about 62 miles) radius. It costs me 150€/year about 100 pounds/year.

:errr: Footman James - £400 odd with a 1275 and Cooper S brakes. Well pleased!!! They accept TMF+ as a club too (or I wouldn't have got insurance with them.). No one would quote me. Best. Day. Ever.

I just got on Bell.com

I am 21 , male, royal navy (so a certified drunk boy racer apparently), got a 1330 with minilights declared , had an accident which is still pending blame, 1 years no claims ,

£441 , fully comp, drive any car option added, legal cover.

Got my 1.9 tdi golf (1998) , same details, accident etc. £ 580 fully comp , my policy.

Get your mums on their lads !! always brings the price down. Then dont let them drive your car and it is only your fault then when you lose your no-claims bonus.

Good luck

Just got my renewal from Footman James for £730 odd, 19y/o male, 1 accident with me at fault less than a year ago, hence no NCB, fully comp, £350 excess or £150 if stolen, 3000 miles limit (i will be at uni so no problem) for my 1.3 vauxhall viva.

this includes free cover for alloys up to £250 in value, free cover for sound equipment up to £250 in value, legal cover thrown in and a few more goodies i think!

I'm absolutely chuffed with it seeing as my renewal from my current insurer (yes insurance/sabre insurance - do not deal with!!!) was over £2000 and ive been getting quotes from £5k to the best ive got £1250 with a massive excess.

Guys,

Not sure how many of you will find this of use, but having nosied around on t'interweb helping lil bro to sort his new motor out I've come across These Guys who offer VERY reasonably priced short term, FULLY COMP cover to learners! Bro just got quoted £96 and some odd pence to actually be able to drive his motor home on Sunday under my supervision and practice in it for a month afterward... Sadly, buying the car's skint him out so he can't take the policy out...but I just thought some of you might like to know about this.

They start from 17y/o, don't restrict mileage and only state car has to be under £20k in value and you have to be accompanied by a driver with 3 years experience when you're out and about. First month is pay in full, after that it's pay per week which is a great idea if you ask me!

Anyway, I'll end my public service announcement! Just thought some of you might find it useful to know this :D

Cheers! G.D

Ahhh, you have to search on the Reg Plate, not make and model :D

I've just tried and it found Monty no problem on Reg but not M&M and he's an '88 'F' reg.

Does that cover an otherwise uninsured car? Ideally i need someone who will cover my to drive my car, before ive passed as it would be about £1000 cheaper in the first year for me to take that temp cover out while im learning and then get the yearly cover when ive passed.
