James:
Day 10
We left the Molina Rosso at 8:30am to drive to Turin, which is a journey of about 240 miles, there was no rally order and we just had to get to Turin for 1:45 so that we could go up on the Fiat factory roof for a few laps.
Most of the journey was on the Autostrada (Motorway), with a limit of 80 mph (but if your Italian its 120 mph +), I got flashed three times for moving into the fast lane doing 80 to overtake two lorry one in slow and one in the middle lane bother doing about 60 mph, I am not quite sure what their problem was but hey all drove about 1 meter behind me until I pulled back in!
The only bad thing that happened while we were driving on the Autostrada was that a dog ran onto the motorway and was hit by the lorry in front of us and thrown up into the air and I had to swerve to avoid it (it was a large dog and would done a fair amount of damage), it was quite a shock.
The rest of the journey passed quite uneventfully, apart from it started to rain and didn’t stop till we got to Turin, due to the fact it was raining we were told that we couldn’t go straight up to the test track and we were to book into the hotel room. It was then we found out that the Hotel is part of the old Fiat factory and after we booked in we walked up to the test track for a look around.
Look how steep the banking is!!!!!!!
The roof from the film!!:
It started to pour down so we went to investigate the shopping centre that was also in the old Fiat factory building (yes it is massive). We had a quick look around the shops and then went for pizza and ice cream!
After we could no longer walk properly we went to the arcades and played on a load of race games and had a few air hockey matches. After all that exercise we went for a beer, and then back to the hotel to sort out the next days plan and then to update the website.
