Ive just been given a set of fog lights and a set of driving lights, Id like to do the Italian job style 3 extra light thing, but I think ill need some kind of frame to mount them on right?
Im not really sure, but I watched the DVD today (lol) to see how they are mounted, and it looks like they have a frame to mount them on, where does this frame attatch too? and roughly how much do they cost?
Ive also been considering just adding the two extra fog lights, if I do this, do people usually just drill into the bumper and mount them to there?
thanks a lot,
As you can tell Im new to mini's but im loving every second of owning one.
thanks for your help,

If you just get 2, its simple enough. Most mini's already have the 2 holes drilled! If not, its a 5 minute job. Just measure so they're even! No biggie at all!
If you want a more complicated lighting supply, there are companies that make the complete lampbars (also italian job style). They are fairly easy to mount! I know of one surely, but cant remember the name. I'll post in the afternoon!

This might sound a bit stupid, but, as my mini doesnt have holes already drilled. I would drill through the sticking out metal bit just behind the bumper, right?
I stuck my hand under there and it diddnt feel like there was much room, but if thats the proper place to mount them, ill have a go tommorow.
thanks a lot,

Yup that's the place!
The lip that the bumper mounts to!
You want T.T. Lyle Metal Designs
Coxford Abbey Farm, East Rudham, Kings Lynn, Norfolk PE31 6TB
Telehone: 01328 864902
Chrome 49.50
Black 39.50
Give them a call sometime! (never bought anything from them, just saw this ad for you in the Mini Mag)

OK, I started to wire this up today but Im stuck, I cant follow the haynes manual, and im not sure which wire is for the main beam. Where should I tap into the wire from the main beam to trigger the relay?
Ive got a relay sorted, and Ive already ran a cable form the battery to underneath the boot area.
Thanks a lot

I may be totally up the wrong tree here, but I seem to remember hearing somewhere that fog and driving lights had to be mounted in multiples of two????
So you can have two of one or other, or both, but not two of one and one of the other.
Does that make sense AT ALL????????????????? lol
Maybe someone round here knows better

You should only wire the relay for FOG lamps to the DIP not main beam and only wire the relay for SPOT lamps to the MAIN beam , and remember it is illigal to run round with the FOG lamps on when there is no FOG
It is illigal to have any auxillery lamps on at all in the face of oncoming trafic, even if there is fog.

The_mini_bug - Yeah, thats how I wanted to mount mine, 4 in a row, like yours.
Did you just wire yours to work with the main beam headlights?
I would only be using the lights on dark roads when nobody is in front of me, so I should be ok to wire them to my main beam, right? as thats the only time I would have them on.
thanks a lot everyone, sorry for the confused questions,
