I'd recommend sticking with either 1.75" or 2" as any more and apparantly you'll loose some power. Not sure how much though, probably not alot.

i have a lcb, stainless link pipe and a twin side exit. (not recomended if you want the quieter mini!!)

you can pick these up at most mini part suppliers, for around £150.00 but if you can get to a mini show, you can pick them up for about £85.00!!! just look thro the mini magazine shop pages, untill you find one you like!! There will be a picture of my exhaust going onto my page, which is named Lilly Baby under complete re-builds.

LCB - is that just a cat-back system or a full header and everything?

no cat on a 1978. just a 3-in-1 from the ports to the link pipe.

this is my exhaust.Str8 through centre exit boxster style back box.Sounds deep and mean and leaves my ears ringing after a night of driving.not very practical but something different, and the amount of people who ask me to rev it over for em.

Hi people I'm Roderick from Malta and I'm a new member.. I just wanted to post some photos on my exhaust system.

Some basic info:

1: The pipe is full stainless steel having a 2" diameter which into a 2.5" diameter to fit the inlet of the back box
2: The back box is a 3A Racing full stainless steel having a twin outlet of 3"

I hope you like it :D

10x alot CooperTrooper :gimme: My backbox is a 3A Racing full stainless steel. The pipe is custom made sort of... what I mean is that who fitted my exhaust system had a straight pipe and done the bendings I hope you understand me because my english ain't that good...

I can also say that it sounds pretty deep and got a nice roaring sound for a 998CC

This is a very low quality video just to give an idea of how it sounds. It was taken by mobile phone so ain't that clear. You can also hear the cone filter sucking air :P

Bump. I live in North America and am going to build an exhaust instead of buy one.

What type of muffler sounds best on a mini? Turbo style, Chambered, etc.

I know what type of muffler sounds best on my 1968 AMX, just no clue on small 4 cylinders.
